Quality Assurance Engineer – Data Center Servers

Candidate will be responsible for Quality Assurance of CPU, BIOS, Terminal Server, Memory, Storage, and Networking sub-systems for a data center product using Linux OS, applications, and tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, automating and executing test plans for a complex data center appliance for computing, storage and networking features
  • Documenting scripts, configurations, procedures, test results, and defects
  • Work closely with Product Management and Engineering in defining feature requirements
  • Verifying that features are developed as per the specification

Qualifications:

  • Experience with various flavors of Linux – RHEL, CentOS, Debian, FreeBSD, etc.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance of Servers and Linux Networking and Storage device driver
  • Build Servers utilizing PXE – Jumpstart (Solaris), Kickstart (RHEL, CentOS), and Preceed (Debian)
  • Linux OS Provisioning details DHCP, Bootp, PXE, DNS, NFS, TFTP, and SMB
  • Experience installing and configuring LAMP, Apache, PHP, MySQL, Java, Tomcat, and Ruby on Rails
  • Experience in using Linux Test Tools – LTP, IOZOne, Xdd, Netperf, Httperf, etc.
  • Must be accomplished at writing shell scripts, Tcl/Expect, Python or Perl to automate advanced administrative and repetitive tasks
  • Hands-on knowledge of TCP/IP and excellent network troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with large-scale server deployment, monitoring, and maintenance a plus
  • Experience with VMWare and XEN a plus
  • Experience testing HP, Dell or IBM blade hardware a plus
  • Experience in the NAS/SAN Storage Environment a plus
  • Experience of testing VLAN, Link Aggregation, port-channels, and Linux bonding a plus
  • Prior experience working for an Enterprise Web Hosting Service provider a plus
  • Experience testing Server Load Balancer a plus
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
  • 5 years of experience as a Test Engineer or System Administrator
