Senior/Lead QA Engineer

As a QA Lead engineer, you will play a key role in defining test strategy and design/development of test execution for a complex datacenter appliance.


Responsibilities:

  • Building/maintaining/enhancing automated test environment
  • Writing test plans, including scheduling and resource estimates, equipment requirements and dependencies
  • Writing test specifications
  • Executing test cases, including manual tests and writing/running automated tests
  • Documenting scripts, configurations, procedures, test results and defects
  • Working with engineering to resolve bugs
  • Understanding customer bugs, design test to duplicate, direct setup and testing
  • Confer with product management and software engineering about the limits and parameters of the product, and how that relates to testing


Qualifications:

  • Seven years overall experience, with five years in System QA.
  • Understanding of development and test processes
  • Proficient in at least one scripting language (Perl, TCL, Python, Expect, etc)
  • Demonstrated experience in running/developing automated scripts
  • Experience in low level OS primitives and drivers (networking, IO, firmware, etc) testing on Linux and/or Windows
  • Experience with embedded system testing covering LAN protocols, network management, and network applications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience working in a startup environment
  • Good debugging skills

Title: Software Engineer


Duties:

Work with the systems, ASIC and Product Management teams to architect, design and implement operating system, device drivers and manufacturing diagnostics software for company’s next generation Data Center appliances.  Responsibilities include architecture, design and coding of various operating system solutions including BIOS software, operating system kernel and device drivers including storage and board connectivity drivers.  Create unit test plans and perform unit test on the developed software.  Create sufficient technical documentation including technical specifications, theory of operations and recommendations for system test methodology.  Participate and contribute in engineering team discussions, documentation and code reviews.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Application or Computer Engineering, and 5 years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience in the job offered or as software designer/engineer, senior software engineer, or principal software engineer required.
